1. Here's How I'm Starting My Digital Journey.
Hey
I don't know how you stumbled or found this blog but I'm happy you can read these words right now.
My name is Vivian and this is where I share the details of my journey into the digital space.
Pretty recent, yes.
Maybe you're wondering right now; What inspired a whole blog? There's an immediate answer and former ones.
Immediate: Osita.
Former: Cross, Stanley, Andy, Ebuka and a host of other people who have constantly enjoyed every word I've put down.
I was having a conversation with Osita a few days ago when he directed that I create a digital space where I can record my journey, since there's a clear path for digital writing for me.
That's why you're reading this.
I've written so many things over the years. But this blog is an attempt to put my interest into one single thing; Digital Marketing.
I'm studying a course right now on Digital Marketing and for the next few days, I'm going to share exactly what I'm learning so you can learn with me too.
Like for example; I learned yesterday that before you decide to get online as a business owner or person, you have to have a clear why. I mean, it makes sense right?
Who starts something of a full project offline without having a clear reason they're starting? Why then would they do so online?
The next lesson I learned was there are several advantages that being online can help with such as
1. Attracting new customers to your business.
2. Getting customer feedback from your clients.
3. Even letting them know if your opening business hours have extended.
That was yesterday.
Today I've learned something I didn't know AT ALL.
I learned that a server is a something like a big ass computer connected to the Internet that stores pieces of your website on the net. The reason it's called a Server is because it automatically gives up relevant information when requested.
Again, one other thing I've learned today is that your domain name is very much like a signboard signalling your business name at the physical location you choose.
Amazingly, this all sounded technical to me until I listened to the tutor explain each of these terms in the simplest way possible. Like IP address simply means Internet Protocol address. Sounds so tech until you get the message broken down.
I'm learning everything bit by bit and I'd like for you to join me. Would you?
Wish me success.
-Vivian.
