13. What Exactly Is Content Marketing?

Guys.

I started going through a new course and it has twelve lessons which I'm going to go through over the span of 12 days for you guys, if I can't fit the lessons in one post.

So maybe you're wondering,

What is Content Marketing?

I'll quote the first instructor. And I'll break it down the much I understand so far.

"Content Marketing is strategic marketing and business process focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience and ultimately to drive profitable customer action"

If we go by this definition, the last 12 posts on this blog can be called Content.

First, Content is strategic. If you want to get a specific result overtime from doing something that everybody else does, you have to do it a bit differently than they would do it. You have to have a plan. My plan was to get you to read these posts and come on a journey with me.

Secondly, It involves both creating and distributing. Content doesn't end when I create. I have to distribute too. I must admit that I haven't been distributing a lot. I've solely done my distribution on Whatsapp.

Anywhoo, Content has to be valuable, relevant and consistent. I've made the effort to be these three things in the posts you've been reading so far. These posts are relevant to marketing and online writing. They have been consistent and I sure do hope they're valuable to you.

Driving profitable customer action can be simply reading this for the time being. Or commenting. Or buying something I've listed as valuable alongside. In any case, I hope reading these posts have been helpful so far.

Tomorrow and over the next 11 days, I hope to capture in writing every lesson I'm learning (or have learned) from the course.

Thank you for hanging around to read this. I sincerely appreciate the time.

Talk tomorrow.
