10. Content Is Still King If You Wish To Sell Online.
I know, I know.
It's almost as if I've been talking about Content more often than any other but I went through some lessons today and they were talking about using predominantly Content to drive sales.
And that's why we are here. And let me tell you. If you're really serious about selling your products online, one of the best ways to do it is through quality content.
Content Marketing is solely concerned with creating and sharing engaging content with your audience in different forms such as through videos, blog posts or social media posts.
The major idea of Content Marketing is generating interest in a company's product and services through consistent content. This will in turn help to increase sales by directing traffic to your website and build trust and recognition amongst your audience.
Before today this age, there was the marketing done in Newspapers, radios, TV and for the time, they were indeed effective. But they didn't allow for a 2-way connection or conversation between you and your audience.
Well today, Content Marketing is particular about that interaction and that's precisely why it is so successful. It allows businesses to connect with their audiences like never before.
You can start creating engaging content on just about anything. You'll publish for the audience most interested in the topic you decide on, to increase readership and followership among other things.
But this is achieved by exclusive Specificity. One of the most important things you should know about Content Marketing is that the better you know your audience, the better content you will create.
What then? Get really specific. Know your audience. What's their pain point? What keeps them up at night? What do they do in their spare time?
How do they speak? Get to really know them to super specific details. Go through social media forums, comment sections etc. Know what they're talking about.
Now know this; If you want to dole out great content you must create a content strategy and they should border on these three things:
1. Creating content based on questions asked by your customers.
2. Providing something valuable to your audience.
3. Leaving them wanting more with the type of content you create.
By the way, it is important to communicate in natural language. Don't be too serious or salesy. You are talking to and with humans with every piece of content you create.
You should also group your audience by who they are and what they like. This is what is called Audience Segmentation and this helps you to create specific content for a group of audience who seem to like similar things but not exactly same. Eg. Pet parents, One cats and other dogs.
