17. Repurposing Content Can Be Your New Content Idea Generator.

93% of Hubspot's Content are created by 20% of the actual work to create content. Did you know that?

If this is true, which it is obviously, then what they do is go through all the processes of finding new content ideas and then create as much content as they can with all the information they gather.

Now, sometimes it happens that you find a winning content post. People love it. They are raving about it. Your boss is overly impressed with all that work you've put in. And your colleagues are envious.

And there you are, beaming and happy. You know how hard you worked. You applaud yourself but you also remind yourself to make this into a process you can replicate so you never miss out on creating great content.

The next time to create comes faster than ever and you find yourself using this "template" you painstakingly took the time to create. But the content goes live and IT FLOPS.

Why?

Learn from Hubspot like I did in the next few lines.

When you find a winning content topic or post, don't automatically replace the words in a bid to repurpose the content. You could even try to recreate that process into a template that you can reuse.

But don't bet on it.

Humans are complex beings. Today they're interested in something and tomorrow,  they don't give a care in the world about what you think as the person creating these things that keep their interest.

If you want to repurpose content like a professional, know this; it is more than copy and paste or even a template. It's about roping in the most current interest of your audience into a message that resonated with them before.

This is knowing fully well that they're humans and their interests shift and vary.

Repurposing Content:
• Gives you the opportunity to create content from preexisting material. No need to do so from scratch.
• Makes your message consistent with your audience.

If you want to repurpose content, use the ACE method.

A: Adjust. What can be added or removed from the former content? How can I make this most relevant to Now?

C: Combine. Here you can combine both related and unrelated content to provide new value and meaning for your audience.

E: Expand. Find out if there's something you've already done in order to dig deeper into your content topic.

While this isn't the only way to repurpose content,  this is one you can work with right now, on the content you already had and the one you're trying to put out.

There's so many things to learn, bestie. I hope I'm not overwhelming you?

Let me know you like it. Or Not.

Goodnight
