25. How To Get Her Attention Even If She Looks Unapproachable: Part 1.
Imagine you went to a restaurant.
You step into the room, everywhere smells like delicious food.
Good ambience. Your sister would love to take pictures in this place, you think.
You make a mental note to bring her here another time.
You scan the room while trying to get a seat and there she is; this fine ass girl.
Whew.
You sit down. You try to act normal. I mean you're a spec too, you tell yourself.
"But she's so beautiful" the voice in your head goes
Black, beautiful, petite. My type! Your brain is singing now.
She doesn't notice you though.
Nah. She's on her phone.
You begin to wonder what you look like.
You want to get the chance to speak to her.
She hasn't even looked up once.
Well well well,
What do you do???
1.Get Her Attention
2.Keep It!
You see,
In Content Marketing, the first thing you want to do is find your target audience. Then invite them to be a part of a journey they themselves already want to go on.
How to do this? By nurturing them with the most relevant, most impressionable and most pressing information that affects them directly.
But first! You MUST GET THEIR ATTENTION.
In writing a piece of content, whether it be email, or a blog post or an ad, you want to get the attention of not everyone but the specific people you want to offer your services to.
You wouldn't be reading this post if your interest online is only in dog food or how to take care of your elderly grandma at home. No.
What you want to know about is how to get the attention of your prospect. This is especially important if you're sure you want to stimulate them enough to make the sale.
That girl sitting inside the restaurant is your target audience and you are the content markerter. I'll give you an advise that the Late Gary Halbert gave in one of his many interviews.
Rule Number 1: You have to know so many things about your prospect. So if he wants to get her attention, he can make enquiries about her. He can ask one of the waiters, or the guy at the bar..
What is her name?
Is she a regular?
Does she order the same drink everytime?
What drink is that?
Does she have any guy she talks or walks with?
Is she generally rude?
Etc
You may not perfectly quote what she'd like or not. But you can start a conversation/break the ice with her using things she's already familiar with.
It's called "Joining the conversation going on in their head".
In Content marketing, you want to get the attention of your prospect using something they're already thinking about. You do this by writing a perfect headline.
Yes. People judge a book by its cover. They really do. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. In other words, people will always read your headline first. After they've read it, then they can read the rest of your copy.
